The Legend of Linken: A Dame in Distress Part I

There once was a lad that lived in a mystical wood in a far away place. He enjoyed the usual hobbies young males of his time should such as cooking, cleaning, and the occasional soap opera's. But there was a very unusual hobby that he cherished in his weekly routine, and this was the dames in distress adds, also known as the DIDA's.

The part of every good newspaper of the time and usually right under the obituarys the DIDA's were of no surprise to anyone. with such a chaotic world outside it was no wonder little princess's should be snatched up right under there rich little father's noses. Linken, being the boy that he was only looked at the adds for the pictures, for they were very rich in detail as what the weary wonderer, adventurer, hero, everything that Linken was not (yet) would look for in a woman (need i say more?). However this weeks edition was a special one that was titled "Dont even Dare look upon the ladies that could somewhat blind you at first sight, glance, stare or whatever other word you could possibly think of for sight adds" and looked fairly, shall we say at the least ewwwy. However Linken wasn't much for reading so it was not a surprise that he ended the day with one peeper less then he had started it with. Now half blind he could not help but to remember the image of the woman that was burned so painfully into his memory and his now non existant eye. "Zelba princess of Hyrell" he could not help but to think "the very princess that would soon rule the country in which I live in is so.... beautiful!". With the image burned into his memory he could not help but to remember this dame that would soon be the woman, or whatever it was, of his dreams.

The next morning without a doubt it was decided, Linken with nothing but his trusty wooden stick shaped like a sword, 90lb frame of pure frailness, and his pet fairy would soon depart for the most epic of quests to save Zelba. The add was very vague on where the princess was last sighted (probably because everyone that saw her was blinded) but Linken could remember it mentioning a giant mountain that had once belonged to rock type creatures call gyrons (who became extinct because they failed to pay there mortgage and were evicted shortly thereafter). So off to "Gyron mountain" was the last thought through Linken's mind before being bludgeoned and knocked out cold randomly on his front porch.

To be Continued....

Characters were referenced from a video game i once played as a child The Legend of Zelda

  1. Ahahaha! I love this because I get all the references! I think though that Mario and Luigi and Bowser read the same newspaper that Linken does. Also I'm so glad you mentioned that he had a wooden stick shaped like a sword, not a wooden sword. haha! But how did he barely make it to his front porch without being knocked out? Poor guy. This is so awesome still.
